The 2013 Cashiers Designer Showhouse "Serenity!" Part 2

Do you have times when things seem a bit overwhelming?

It just seems since we went to the Cashiers Showhouse and I got Part 1
out, that I have been going in circles! I know it doesn't have anything
to do with family birthdays, a visit to St. Simons,
committee meetings, paperwork (lots of that)
trips to ADAC and area stores to find that
special something, and client appointments.
The days just keep flying past me.

But finally, I am slowing down and grabbing some time to share
the rest of this fabulous showhouse with you!
Here is the link to the part 1 in case you missed it.

We left off on the path leaving from the deck of the main house.
As we wind down the path, we come across what was
originally a bunk house for the owners grandchildren.
The inside now has an entirely new look from the designers.

We will go in the door on the left that opens up
into the living area.

This was such a great place and even though the square footage
was small it felt big!

Lovely downstairs bedroom, designed by Kathryn Greeley. She always
does beautiful rooms with exceptional details.

Upstairs you will find an artist loft with room to work
and sleep.

This room was created by one of my absolute favorite designers,
Charles Faudree. You can click Here to read about a past
encounter with Charles and his friend Leslie, who we were so fortunate
to meet at a past showhouse. In this showhouse he turned this
space into a combination  library - dining room.

On the back porch we found a fabulous little sleeping porch!

We next followed the path again. This time it  took us down to
Guest House. I loved this special place! I could have moved
right in!

Too the left was a dining area and to the right was the
perfect place to visit with friends or curl up and read.

You enter into a large open room that houses
the living and the kitchen/dining area.
This area was done by Francie Hargrove.
Francie is one talented designer and a
graduate of Gainesville's Brenau College.
She is a great example of the new Southern Gal.
If you are ever in the Cashiers area, be sure and
visit her shop. You will not be disappointed!

As you head towards the back of the house you
entered a central hallway.

Too the left was as bedroom with beautiful bedding.
The wonderful Chinese red continues into the bath off of
the bedroom.

Then sitting area has a modern twist.

and another bath off of it has  great
walls of old black and white photos!

Another beautifully landscaped bath will take
us down to the horses and stables!

The stables were set up with a fantastic collection of artwork
and gifts for sell.

Outside were beautiful flower baskets and containers you could
also purchase!

I hope you have enjoyed the tour of Serenity Acres. Be sure and
make plans to head to Cashier's in August for next years showhouse, you will be
glad you did!

The 2013 Cashiers Designer Showhouse "Serenity!" Part 1

It seems like every time the Touring Gals* and I head up
the highway to Cashiers there is something special in store for us!
The 2013 Cashiers Designer Showhouse this year was exceptional!

Serenity Acres is set with a stunning backdrop of granite mountains, this
39 acres high elevation estate is only 3+ miles to the center of Cashiers, NC
and is one of the finest family compounds in the area!
Features include two homes, a bunk house, six stall stables, rolling lawns,
fenced pastures, hiking trails, fishing pond, dark forest and splendid
views all around.**

This beautiful rock and garden wall greeted us as we approached the front door.
You enter the house on the main level.

As you come in you are greeted with
a beautiful look down to the lower living area.

Here is the view looking back up to the ground level.

I apologize for some of these pictures. This is the first year they have let us take photos!
All I had with me was my iPhone.
Off the entry is the Den/Retreat.
I love the way they covered the beds mattress and box springs
for use in the Den/Retreat.
This great sea grass carpet was used throughout the house.

This is the study sitting room.
The beautiful deer is painted on glass!

The Gentleman's Guest Bedroom and Bath is
on this floor and is outfitted for the special male visitor.
Now we will head to the lower level.

This lower level living and dining room is and eclectic mix of
unusual pieces (yes that is a duck and otter on the table!)
There are many individual groupings in this large room. It
would work well for a large party or more intimate
use for just a few.

This little fellow wants to show you the way to the kitchen!

The kitchen was a good example of a well thought
out space with nice accents and natural light.

Great little powder room off the kitchen and
living area.

On the kitchen side of the porch you have a ideal
viking outdoor kitchen from Hadco and a dining area.

You can go from the kitchen/dining side of the porch
around to this sitting area off the master bedroom.

This is the beautiful master bedroom. They added extra storage
built in to the rock wall. I love the drapery and bedding fabrics!

I really like the look of the rectangular sinks in
the master bath!

Now lets leave the main house and head down
the path pasted the beautiful landscaped areas.

On the right hand side of this blog there is a place to subscribe to receive
my blog in your e-mail in box. That way you won't miss Part 2 of the
Cashiers Designer Showhouse.

at the bunk house and guest house. You are in for a big surprise!
They are not your ordinary place to stay!
