Interior Design Blues

Sometimes I wonder what I'm gonna do
'Cause there ain't no cure for the summertime blues

Barclay Butera
I have never been a huge fan of the color blue. But this summer various
combinations of blue have been flying around the design world.
I now have a good case of the summertime blues! It is really growing on me!

Cynthia Jorgensen
I love the blue ceiling!

Thibaut wallcovering, waterbury trail in navy, really livens up
this laundry room.

The walls are covered floor-to-ceiling in blue and white delft tile
(expertly placed there by another blue and white lover and
previous owner Carolyne Roehm).

The purple walls are an interesting choice with the
blue bedding and drapery fabric.

Great choices of blue in this coastal chic room!

You will really feel like you are by the sea in this blue
and white bedroom.

I can never get enough of blue and white porcelains! It
works with almost any decor. I even have them
in my house!

Blue and white porcelains work in a variety of rooms.

Amazing blue lacquer for the cabinets. This room has
a large scale yellow and white wallpaper that doesn't
show in this picture.

Nothing wrong with taking your blue and white outside!

There are many shades of blue. This room pulls fabrics and
paintings that are soft and calm.

The use of blue tile in this bath gives it a spa like feel.

I have always loved this Clarence House
wallpaper in the blue background.

This blue wallpaper even looks great in the kitchen!

I could go on for hours adding blue pictures, but
if you want to see more blue go visit my
My Blue e Bianco board on Pinterest.

Maybe this is why so many people love blue!

Part 2: Here's to the next 100!

When we left our designer and the ADN group,
we were at the Atlanta Merchandise Mart. If you
missed Part 1 you can read it HERE

The showrooms are not just all furniture and accessories.
You can find beautiful embroidered panels, gorgeous
pillow, shawls and even panels made out of burlap
with button accents.

This showroom had so many wonderful things that it was hard to
decide what to photograph! Light fixtures have come a long
way from being functional to now being statement pieces
of art! This showroom also carries a great line of
upholstered furniture and porch swings.

This company, offers a wide array of home furnishings.
These solid wood rustic furniture pieces feature traditional craftsmanship
from unique resources found around the world.
They  join a long list of green companies that are
all working to minimize negative impact on
the environment and human health.

The look, the style, the selection is all here in this showroom.
What started out as lighting has expanded into artwork, wall decor,
accessories and furniture. The two lamps in the last picture
are outdoor lamps. Perfect for your porch!

We wrap up our tour in the area of the mart know as The Gardens.
Everything you see in the pictures are designed to be used outside.
The furniture, fabrics even a home for the dog. That is
Cathryn Miller, standing up on the right. She is responsible
for organizing our tour and being of help to the
Interior Design trade.
Our ADN President, Anita is sitting on the left and our
VP of Marketing, Linda is on the right.
I hope you have enjoyed our tour of the mart showrooms.
I will share some other fun and educational things that
our ADN group does in the future.

If you are interested in more information about any of these
showrooms or would like to discuss a visit to the mart.
