Mixing metals and friends

Metallic gold, silver, and other shiny finishes
are all over the home decor industry!

Mixing metals are very acceptable and
make for a very interesting twist!

When I think of all gold, I think of the atrium
at Trump Tower in New York City. It definitely
made an impact on me riding on that escalator!

There is a strong use of silver, grey and stainless
in kitchens right now.

But what I am really enjoying with the metallic
trend, is mixing them together!

You can use a touch of gold in a silver grey room.
Like the mirror in this bedroom.

When you come into this entry hall,
you get a feeling of formality with the
gold accents.

Can you imagine sleeping in such elegance!

Or soaking in this bathroom with all the elegant
touches of gold. But the marble and the tile floor
have the silvery grey accents. It would not be nearly
as lovely with chrome!

I see a rose gold, burnished gold and the fine
silver veining in the marble along with stainless
appliances in this beautiful mix of metallic finishes.

Rose gold is showing up in lighting ....

.... furniture,

...and wallcoverings.

Platinum is a new choice in appliances,

also in furniture and accessories.

There was a song we learned  at camp when
I was young. It starts out:

Make new friends, but keep the old.
One is silver, the other is gold.

I have been blessed to have so many
silver, gold and platinum friends!
